We Are EF
The goal: Position EF Education First as one of the top places to work not just in Boston, but in all of North America. In collaboration with EF’s brand content team, I contribute stories that showcase the amazing personalities who bring the global company’s mission to life every day.

One foot in front of the other
Three hundred and forty kilometers is a long distance. To put it into perspective, that’s just about the span of Switzerland from east to west. Nearly one-tenth the width of Australia. Or a one-way trip from Boston to New York City. It’s also how far EF Education First’s Group Finance Director, Steve, ran in just one race last year.

Hiring (and keeping) good people
Would you dress up in a dinosaur suit if it meant lifting your team’s spirits? Suzi definitely would. In fact, she already has. As Director of Recruitment and Development at EF Education First in Boston, Suzi doesn’t just find great hires, she creates programs and initiatives that keep EF’s super-talented staff feeling happy and fulfilled—even if that means suiting up as a T-Rex.

Riding for hope
Hannah is terrified of bike riding. Before this summer, she had dusted off her road bike maybe five times. Yet, when the opportunity came to join EF on a 40-mile ride to benefit pediatric cancer research at Boston Children’s Hospital, she didn’t think twice.

Bringing out the best in others
Ever have one of those I-can’t-believe-this-is-really-my-job moments? Brigid, Director of Sales for EF College Study Tours in Boston, Massachusetts, has had quite a few of these during her five years with EF Education First, but one experience stands out above the rest.

Setting new standards for education
Pursuing a career in English education wasn’t a choice for Minh, EF Education First’s Senior Director of Research and Academic Partnerships. It was a calling.

Growing in leadership and motherhood
“I tell women they can have it all—maybe not all at the same time—but it’s totally possible,” says Silvia, mom of three and EF Education First’s Vice President of Finance and Strategy. “When I hear others say they can’t start a family right now because their jobs won’t allow for it, I encourage them not to put that off.”

Building brand stories with heart
When Heather arrived at EF Academy’s global headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, she had a mission. Her first 365 days on the job would be focused on achieving one important goal: finding new and powerful ways to share the EF Academy story with the world.

Seeing the big picture through the bottom line
Stefan is a problem solver. Whether he’s figuring out how to backpack through 10 countries in seven weeks or how to increase quarterly revenue, when faced with a challenge, this ball-player-turned-financial-analyst isn’t one to back down. Instead, he asks big questions and works to find smart solutions. In other words, when things get tough, Stefan shines.
